The BVH File importer and exporter provide very flexible tools for importing Biovision's BVH formatted animation files into DAZ|Studio, and exporting DAZ|Studio animations to BVH formatted files.

The BVH importer allows you to control which animations nodes in the file map to which bones in the scene. In this way, the name mismatch problems normally associated with importing BVH files from diverse source is easily eliminated.

The BVH importer detects and adjusts to ensure the variations found in files from different sources are easily handled.

The BVH exporter has similar flexibility, allowing you to rename the node names on export to match the names used in the target application.

Best of all, mapping used for both importer and exporter can be saved and reused whenever files to or from the same source are desired. This BVH importer / exporter is by far the most flexible available for any market.

 

The importer and exporter provide the following features:

Automatic default mapping of entries in the BVH file to the corresponding bone names in the selected figure.
Flexible mapping that can be used to convert nodes used in the BVH file, to bones used in the DAZ|Studio figure.
Storage of the current node map for future use by the importer or exporter.
Re-application of previously stored node maps.
Optional correction of playback frame rate, and animation time ranges to match those used in the BVH file.
Control over the partial importing of the BVH file, allowing the data to be applied to only some of the bones.
Control over the importing of the BVH file, allowing the data to be applied while keeping the figure 'In Place'.

Automatic scaling and detection of the figure orientation in the BVH file avoids trail and error importing of animation.
